മധ്യ കിഴക്കൻ അറബിക്കടലിൽ കർണാടക തീരത്തിന് മുകളിലായി മെയ് 21 ഓടെ ഉയർന്ന ലെവലിൽ ചക്രവാത ചുഴി രൂപപ്പെട്ട് മെയ് 22 ഓടെ ന്യുനമർദ്ദമായി ശക്തി പ്രാപിക്കാൻ സാധ്യത. തുടർന്ന് വടക്കു ദിശയിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു വീണ്ടും ശക്തി പ്രാപിക്കാൻ സാധ്യതയെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പ്.
കേരളത്തിൽ അടുത്ത 5 ദിവസം വ്യാപകമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യത. വടക്കൻ കേരളത്തിൽ ഇന്ന് (മെയ് 20) ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട അതിതീവ്ര മഴയ്ക്കും മെയ് 20 ,21 ,23 ,24 തീയതികളിൽ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട അതിശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്കും സാധ്യത.

An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over eastcentral Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast around 21st May. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same region around 22nd May. Thereafter, it is likely to move northwards and intensify further.
